Beanie Sigel takes shots at Jay-Z

For those of you who remember when Roc-A-Fella Records was in its prime, this is a sad day in Hip-Hop. A sad day due to the fact that the Broad Street Bully sounds like he had nothin' better to do than to respond to the recent success of Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 and his own lacking output of music. While the beat's decent, Beanie takes a haphazard approach to discussing his falling out with Jigga and goes to say that he "made the Roc" what it was back in the day. While that's debatable, this track isn't one to bring Sig back to where he was half a decade ago. Add this to the growing list of instances where Jay-Z will turn a blind eye to MC's who seem to have major issues with him (Peedi Crack, Cam'ron, Jim Jones, etc.).

VV BROWN WINS AT LIFE

I saw this video and flipped TWO sh*ts. [sigh] :)
Can't lie, Miss Brown was going a little hard on the strings at one point but I was still satisfied.
{Pssst. It's Artemis J}

Around The Way: England

I really wish I could explain VV Brown. I don't think there's any word in the English language to describe this British songstress. She's...um...well...her? I know I'm pretty late since her debut album Traveling Like the Light dropped in July...oh well! Just watch the video to her latest single, "Game Over" and tell us what you think. I honestly think Lady Gaga might have to step her game up.

And i don´t give a damn my heart made me drunk but my mind is sober
So can you get the jist imma make a move ´cos the game is over

That New New

Happy Birthday to Drake who turned 23 this past Saturday! Big ups! I had to post the birthday shot with him and my other favorite rapper Cudder. I have a mixed bag of that new new for everyone today.

First, I have a mean freestyle by Weezy F Baby over the Run This Town beat.

Download it here.

Second, I have a new fresh track off Timbaland's new album featuring Drake. It's titled Say Something. We premiered it on Blue Vinyl but now I have that connect so you can have it wherever you go.

Download it here.

Last of all, I have a BRAND NEW mixtape from Lil Wayne titled No Ceilings. I'm just going to assume that he really isn't going to jail. If he is, then Free Weezy in advance. Thanks.

Download it here.

Update

I just got that new track by Drake and Soulja for ya'. Time to turn ya' swag on and Play Ball. ;)

Download it here.
Until next time.

THE CONNECT: 'In Love & War' and 'Transition'

Yoyoyo flybois and cybergirls, it's ya boi KB bringin' you THE CONNECT ...WHAT IS THAT?!? welp that is where we here at BVR hook you up with that free good ish...or maybe you wont like it. who knows. but we promised you free things and have been slacking... so here you go.

1st off we got little AMERIE back in the building. hasn't really done much [good] since 1 Thing way way back in the day. She did go ahead and release another album called 'BECAUSE I LOVE IT' and it was hated by the masses. She for a while didn't know WHAT she was doing with music. Then her label dropped her. Then she was picked up and shelved. Then she came out much later with the lead single 'WHY R U' and it fizzled, then she released 'HEARD EM ALL' and the video was bananas, the song grew on me and i was amped. THEN the sampler came out and her and TREY SONGZ adapted one of my favorite 90's songs [PRETTY BROWN EYES]... i was amped. AND now here it is. Click the pic for the CONNECT.

2nd we have my dude Ryan Leslie who has been on the scene FOREVER as a producer. AND HE WAS EDUCATED IN THE BEAN [boston for all ya'll nonknown mofos]. His first album didnt get much love and i didnt hear anything about this one, but checked my mail and BAM, dude was there... But i have been longing to be like dude since junior year of highschool and i still kinda wanna be. DUDE IS A DOPE PRODUCER... any whooo, check out this album 'TRANSITION' and let me know what u think. Again, Click the pic for the CONNECT. [CURRENTLY DOES NOT WORK]

welp... that is all for now. BRING YO ASS BACK LATER?!?! k?

deuces.

YA BOI .:KB:.

New Video: Melanie Fiona in da streets...

YOyoyo what's good cyboys and cybergirls it's ya boi KB reporting live from tha HILL. In the mists of prepin for THE CYPHER, we have seemed to not been keepin you all up to date with that good GOOD. So since I KNOW i LOVE MelFiona, i thought YOU TOO would love some more of her taking it to the streets to prep for her album. Last time we posted her up in NYC, but this time, homegirl headed up north to her home country, CANADA... peep it.

Welp... that is all for now. BRING YO ASS BACK LATER?!?! k?

Hot Or Not: Chris Brown's "I Can Transform Ya!"

Well if there's one thing Rihanna and Chris Brown have in common it's the ability to disappoint me with there comeback singles. While Rihanna's epic fail was right out the gate, Chris had a chance to possibly strength his dissolving fan base with "I Can Transform Ya!" Then I watched the video. Somehow he went from Transformers to ninjas to a Michael Jackson styled tribute in less than 4 minutes. Anyway, watch and tell us what you think.

Around The Way: Dutch Edition

If Rihanna and Lady Gaga had a daughter she would be Eva Simons. She first came on the scene in 2004 after winning the Dutch version of American Idol called Popstars. Hailing from Amsterdam, yes thanks to slavery black people can be found all the way in Amsterdam, Eva Simons is another one of those international female artist that I feel will never be appreciated in the States. Here's the video to her new single "Silly Boy", off of her debut album dropping next year. Watch it and tell me if you agree.

Cause you had a good girl, good girl, girl
That’s a keeper, keeper
You had a good girl, good girl but
Didn’t know how to treat her, treat her (treat her)

Sneak Peak: Omarion ‘I Get In’

http://celeb.wohoo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/bow-wow-and-omarion-mtv-trl-studio-3.jpg
even though he's kind of a nobody at this point... [even YOUNG MONEY had second thoughts... and they stood behind Nicki Minaj] ... i'd hit. i mean, look at that sexy/dazed/confused "i don't know why i'm still famous" look he has going on... rawr ;)

erm, um. anyway. Omarion is set to release this song as his next single... here's a snippet of it along with it's video. I'm not too sure WHY Omarion decided to go with this odd & random rap flow he has going on here... last i checked he no longer has Wayne to try to prove himself too... oh well, if Kanye can sing for an entire album, Omarion can release this... i suppose...

anyone else find the lack of estrogen in this video interesting? and this song just ridiculous in itself? just sayin...

Vogue Paris x KAWS - "Graffiti Couture"

/Couture/
Definition: An American take on a french phrase meaning "high fashion." Also defined as really fucking expensive clothing.vogue-paris-november-2009-kaws-1

So French Vogue, the magazine that has brought you other bigot-tastic editorials such as their black face spread has come out with an pretty sweet editorial. I don't know if they're trying to redeem themselves after making all of france go ape-shit over the racist undertones of that previous editorial, but as you will come to know, i have an affinity for Graffiti & street art related things. French Vogue is 1-1 in my book. Images courtesy of IF.BLOG. KAWS is the designer/illustrator that worked on this editorial

Lil Wayne? Jail?

Well... can't say anyone is surprised, you know?

According to everyone on the internet, Dwayne Carter III AKA Lil Wayne just recently plead guilty to attempted gun possession, and is, apparently, expecting a year in jail. Now... if this plays out like T.I's "a year and a day" expected sentencing time.... I'm pretty Sure Wayne will be out of jail in time to release another 45 mixtapes and be featured on 2,000 more singles... But we don't actually know what's going to happen, as the sentence date is in February 2010. In case you guys don't know, that is also around the same time Drake's album Thank Me Later is set to release. so, in case things turn out for the worse, the world is asking: WHAT IS YOUNG MONEY GOING TO DO WITHOUT LIL WAYNE?!?!!

Though i'm not a hardcore Lil Wayne fiend, why can't they switch Wayne out for a less productive/good Young Money artist. Please, New York court system, take Nicki Minaj instead...

New Rihanna

I haven't always been a fan of Rihanna. Yup I said it. I bought Music of the Sun back in 2005, and yeah...it was cute. Had a few good tracks but overall I wanted my money back. She tricked me with her sophomore album, A Girl Like Me. I loved "S.O.S." but was once again disappointed with the rest of the album. Then something happened. She pulled a complete 180 and decided that she was going to cut her hair, be herself, and not conform to the cute little island girl that everyone wanted her to be. Lucky for her, and us, the new and approve Riri, though sexy and bold, was still easily marketable. I ended up loving Good Girl Gone Bad and even trying to emulate Rihanna's rocker style (Chopped my hair ALL off and looked damn good if I may say so myself). Moral of the story, I have love for Miss Robyn Rihanna Fenty. With that being said, I can now guiltlessly let you in on a little secret: RIHANNA HAS LOST HER DAMN MIND!

We all know that 2009 has not been her best year. I shouldn't have to mention the mess a certain singer/dancer/Ike Turner fan subjected her too. Yes, she has certainly, as my mother likes to say "gone through". However, and believe me I am trying my HARDEST to not come off as being insensitive when I say this, that's no excuse for this garbage that she's trying to pass off as music.

Rihanna is reportedly working on her new album, Rated R, which is supposed to drop November 23rd off this year. The first single off of the album is entitled "Russian Roulette” and for some reason I thought it would be another one of her infamous club-bangers...WRONG! Just listen and tell me what you think.

New Video: 'Doesn't Mean Anything'

YOyoyo what's good cyboys and cybergirls it's ya boi KB reporting live from tha HILL. Today i got that new Alicia Keys 'DONES'T MEAN ANYTHING' video. This song is right off her fourth studio album entitled “The Element Of Freedom” which is droppin December 1st. This video for this jam is a little cinematic i guess. I'm sad it reminds me of Usher's poor attempt for a video with 'Moving Mountains'. oh well, you be the judge and let me know what you think.

Well that’s all I got for you. Feel free to tell me what you think of my ohter whiffy’s video. And keep your ear to the ground for more updates on the BLUE MOON HARVEST going on all this month.

SO now is the moment of truth… can he live up to the dopeness provided in those two tracks. Ne-Yo "Never Knew I Needed"

Well, i wasn't surprised Ne-Yo had a new song out... he's basically RnB version of Lil Wayne when it comes to releasing new music.... damn near every day. But this song... is special. Its a part of the soundtrack of that racist movie Disney is setting out to release... I personally don't like the song, but i would have been angry if Ne-Yo made some amazing song for this ridiculous movie.

-[|| Lady Trace -Y ||]-

Hot or Not?

So if i told you Shakira had a new song with Lil Wayne & Timbaland what would your initial reaction be? Something along the lines of "wtf?!"?

well... here it is...

[note: song is tagged so... bear with it. also, bear with the fact that it's an awful song.]

New Video: 'Green Eyed Love'

YOyoyo what's good cyboys and cybergirls it's ya boi KB reporting live from tha HILL. Today i got that new Mayer Hawthorne video for that ass. Over the summer I discovered this bomb as soul singer when I was on my way back when trip. Dude hit me up with his lead single ‘Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out’. And the visuals for that song were just as sick as the ones of this new song ‘Green Eyed Love’. This song is amazing in my opinion. The phrasing, the vocals, the beat, and the guitar solo. The video for this track is on some other shit though. I gotta give it up to Mr. Hawthorne for this one, you really do feel like you are trippin off something while watching. I’d like to have what he be sippin on!!! Anywho, peep the visuals for Mayer Hawthorne’s ‘Green Eyed Love’ and cop his debut album ‘A STRANGR ARRANGEMENT’ [which is also pure dopeness… so dope I might give ya‘ll the connect].

Well that’s all I got for you. Feel free to tell me what you think of my boi’s video. And keep your ear to the ground for more updates on the BLUE MOON HARVEST going on all this month.

Let Me Put You On: Dionne Broomfield

So normally I'm a little skeptical whenever an artist comes out with a protegee. I’ve been hurt in the past, I’m still waiting for Da Band’s second album to drop. Now imagine how I felt when Amy Winehouse came out with one. I love Amy, she and I go way back, but come on, unless I’m looking for the best blow in London or if I need help finding a hairstyle that is large enough to hold my contraband so I can get through airport security, chances are I’m not asking her advice on anything. However, when it comes to discovering future superstars she knows her thing. I can’t lie, 13-year-old Dionne Bromfield stole my heart. There’s something so adorable about Winehouse’s goddaughter. It might be her strong 60s vocal range or the fact that in her video, “Foolish Little Girl” she does something that I’ve never seen a bubble gum princess do; act her age. Will she go far? Will she develop a drug habit? Will she be Lil’ Wayne’s next baby mother? I don’t know. What I do know is that this little diva just might be what the game’s been missing.

Introducing Dionne Broomfield debuts October 12th. Go out and cop it. All proceeds goes to her college fund. I highly doubt that but wouldn't it be cute if it were true? Deuces.

New Janelle Monae x Kia Soul Collective

So since the auto industry is in serious danger right now, Kia thought it would be a good idea to creat the Kia Soul Collective Project, which is apparently made up of "today's "hotest artists" hand-picked to help promote the Kia Soul."

yeah, because if anyone is going to save the economy... it's going to be soul music. No, but seriously... here's the video. To be honest, this post was really designed to show the world how freaking bizarre Janelle Monae is. TRICK IS CRAZY (but she can sing so...?) It's hard to believe she's human, perhaps she truly is a cyborg all along...

nice right? well click here to download the track

well, i'm too tired to use my usual sig... so [i'll fix it later]

Hip Hop News!

okay... so every blog i visited this morning has this as their latest update. So i can't say in good faith that you "heard it here first" on Blue Vinyl... but chances are you probably did.

So apparently, for their next album Instant Gratification (dropping 2010) N.E.R.D is adding some trick named Rhea to their group... she better not fuck it up... just sayin...

jk i'm actually excited to see what they do. I mean, it's not like my opinion matters so, might as well just embrace it. Plus, she's from Toronto... wtf, i feel like we're being overcome by Canadians. This is ridiculous.

(she looks like an Alicia Keys lookalike who's really bad at her job)

Anyway, here's what MTV had to say about the matter (WHAT? MTV is dealing with MUSIC related things? interesting...)

“Musically, we’re just somewhere else [with her],” Pharrell told MTV News. “The music is now very 3-D. It’s something you have to hear. But you’ll see. We’re definitely somewhere else. I want to leave that impact moment for when you purchase your download and you purchase your CD. The music is very three-dimensional. We’re just really excited. We feel like N.E.R.D. has always been the punks of hip-hop and the outcasts of alternative music — just a little different. But this time, we’re taking no prisoners.”

The Neptunes artist explained Rhea might be petite, at just 5-foot-4, but her booming voice and her classical background blend in with the genre-bending trio of N.E.R.D., also including Chad Williams and Shae.

“Now you have this little Tinkerbell that’s just stepped in and has been amazing,” he said. “It’s made it a fun process. We can go in so many more directions, because we have the vocal support.”
i could hit you guys up with some videos and such... but i'm a college student, therefore doing these last few posts probably set me back a letter grade in all my classes as it is.

(i was gonna say "adios muchachas" nit firefox is telling me "muchacha" isn't a word. damn... after all this time you'd think technology would be less racist...)

Lupe Fiasco "Run This Town Freestyle" x "Go Go Gadget Flow" LIVE @ CSU

Lupe needs to hurry up and release this damn CD.... just saying... wait, let me actually check the release date and stop acting ignorant... according to his blog:

I just got back from the Lupe show at the Chicago Theatre and it was dope like always. Just wanted to hit yall with some good news, seem's like we will get another 4th quarter Lupe Fiasco release!

That's right... Lupe Fiasco's Lasers drops this December, and this date seems a lot more possible than anything earlier....so get excited!!

alrighty then... anyway the whole point of this post was to hit you up with a live Lupe performance and some free music. sound nice? well alright then!

like it? i kinda wish he didn't force the ending... well click here to download that freestyle for free. Who knows, we'll probably play it on the radio (I'll likely forget so... probs not)

I'm gonna add a piece of Lupe Fan Art... just cause it looks like something i'd draw (i'm not artistic... at all.... so i'm limited to just writing pretty) also, because the song it was inspired by is dope.

aight... that's all (...for now...)

Embarrassing Black Person Award

Okay so this idea first came up in a boondocks comic strip, and after watching THIS video... i had to make a Blue Vinyl segment. If i had only thought of it weeks ago... Kanye woulda had the title for 3 consecutive weeks JUST BECAUSE he's Kanye...

well... looks like T-Pain seriously wants his career back... according to THIS song (see poor quality video below) he's almost in the same boat with Chris Breezy where no one really cares about his foolish ass no more. *sigh*

HOT MESS OF THE WEEK

Oh boy... I guess when your career fails to pop off after nearly 7 years, you resort to many extremes in order to catch a buzz (I guess it's working if we posting this here on BVR). Saigon, once a critically-acclaimed newcomer promised to fulfill many high expectations in Hip-Hop, has now fallen into the ranks of MC's who have utterly failed to get their debuts off the ground (Wikipedia Joel Ortiz, Jae Millz, Charles Hamilton, and Cory Gunz). But this is not how you try to spark something from nothing.

Entitled, "For Some Pussy," I'll just give you a laundry list of what's wrong with this joint:

1) Really "Yardfather"? You had to hit 'em up with some Autotune? As much as you might find this humorous, this will not get you added onto the Young Money roster.
2) As much as I'm for honest rap music and a little vulnerability, did you really just admit to paying for pussy?... and you been rapping for how long now? And you were on "Entourage"?...
3) No this fool did not just add in a clip of him with Kanye to really justify getting this chick in the sack... smh.
4) Peep the "enthusiasm" of this random white broad (I'd at least like to see a variety of video girls) and the comment bubbles that just sadly remind me of a lesser version of the "Every Girl" video.
5) I like how the director decided to bring Saigon and this random chick back to his two bedroom apartment's kitchen to put this all together.
6) Saigon really must've been trying to break new ground with this vid... he really ended off the video with a shot of him sitting between this girl's thighs ready to... well, you get the idea.
7) As if the song wasn't bad enough... you throw OJ DA JUICMEMAN on the remix?! Maybe Saigon doesn't want to rap for a living...

Can't say i'm surprised...

As of yet, LiveNation, Lady gaga & Kanye aren't really giving any real reason or explanation to why the tour was canceled. Perhaps the two looniest people in the industry realized that they need professional help and need to stop with this "music making" business for the moment. We all saw them at the VMAs... they have no business being out in the real world with real people... together...

Well... that's unfortunate (wouldn't let it happen to me though...)

such a shame... the tour had such a classy promo trailer...
