The Return of Shyne

Anyone got a Ricola?... But in all seriousness, looks like recently deported MC Shyne (who finished up a 10-year bid in the States only to be shipped back to Belize) is hittin' the cover of the next XXL issue. It's weird though... this video depicts a very gritty, eerie illustration of what Shyne and his fellow Belizians must endure in his home country. However, here's a little fun fact: Shyne's the son of Belize's current prime minister. Safe to say he got cut off a long time ago?

One of the Funniest Videos of All Time

After finding the Hot Mess of the Week, I remembered a hilarious clip that a few friends of mine talked about after we went to the gym last week. Andy Milonakis is hilarious. Please do yourself a favor and watch this video in its entirety. You won't regret it.

Then And Now: Rich Boy/Drake Collabos

You probably peeped the title of this post and found it to be the most random thing you've seen all day. However, a Drake-Rich Boy tandem is not something that's to be taken out of the blue. For everyone who took a listen to Drake's 2008 mixtape Comeback Season, you probably looked over a guest appearance from the Mobile, AL MC on a track called "Must Hate Money." I'm not gonna front, I did the same thing. It just so happens as I was busy procrastinating at work and spending my time listening to cuts from Drake's old mixtape, I did hear this track and played it back a couple of times. I guess it was a premonition of what was to come.

hiphopdx.com just posted up a link to a new song entitled "To The Floor" featuring Rich Boy, Drake, and even Lloyd encouragin' some broad to drop it "to the floor" over a Polow Da Don beat. I was pleased by the track and hope you will be too. In all, I'm glad to see Drake doesn't just leave behind past collaborators who lend a helping hand as he hoists his title for "rookie of the year" (as he mentions in the song). Enjoy...

According to Karen Civil, No More Thanks Yous is an unofficial mixtape that features a Polow Da Don produced track titled "To the Floor" and the Rob Holladay produced "Do It All". Shoutout to Ronald German for notifying me.

In other news, Thank Me Later will soon achieve platinum status in the next upcoming weeks. The video for "Miss Me" was shot in Atlanta last night. Today, Drake and the crew are working on the video for "Fancy". As always, I will post the videos once they're available. You can enjoy the download below for now.

Affion Crockett – Drake’s Tim Westwood Freestyle

A week or two ago, I posted an Affion Crockett parody of Chris Brown and Tyga's "Dueces." I can't believe this dude has made a parody of yet another one of my favorite videos. Drake is his victim once again. Before I present you the video you must know some things. Tim Westwood is the Funk Master Flex of England. We all know that Affion Crockett has once joked on Drake for his last Hot 97 freestyle. His freestyle with Tim Westwood has also become victim to the hilarious Affion Crockett.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WATCH THE ORIGINAL BEFORE YOU WATCH THE PARODY.

Drake - Paris Morton Music

With Rick Ross' Teflon Don due out soon, some of the album's tracks have surfaced. One track in particular, Aston Martin Music, features Drake and Chrisette Michelle. However, the version that is speculated to be on the final version of the album appears to be missing Drake's verse. Below, I have included a download of the verse that may be well lost. We shall see. Drake titles it Paris Morton Music.

Honestly, I don't think it should make it to Teflon Don. If it does, it'll overshadow Rick Ross' entire existence. Welcome back "Comeback Season" Drake. You bloggers can thank me later.

Don't Call It A Comeback: Fefe Dobson

I love this Canadian rocker. So beautiful and her music brings out the inner rock band in all of us. Her MUCH anticipated sophomore album, Joy is scheduled to drop this October. God she makes me miss my TRL days...ohhh Carson Daly. ANYWAY here's her latest single, "Ghost" and one of my personal faves "Take Me Away" as a refresher. No, on some realness, simply gorgeous.

Lil Wayne to Drop EP in September

Trace Y here...

So Lil Wayne is only halfway through his year long sentence, and somehow still plans on dropping an EP in a few months. Cortz Bryant, CEO of Young Money, stated "I'm putting out a [Wayne EP] called I'm Not a Human Being and I'll probably drop it on his birthday, September 27," Apparently the album isn't going to have a lot of publicity behind it. Its not even going to be sold in stores. It's just going to get put out on the web for the fans. Its set to get the fans ready for Tha Carter IV.

Then And Now: Jin

Remember the days BET's 106 & Park superceded MTV's TRL as the place to get a quality countdown (at least in the black community)? Remember the days when Friday was more than just a signal of forthcoming weekend? Remember the days when you heard about some Asian MC being inducted into "Freestyle Friday" Hall of Fame and getting a record deal with the Ruff Ryders and dropping a single that featured Wyclef Jean? Remember Jin?

In case you don't know about the brief stint Jin spent in the Rap game trying to prove himself to the countless doubters/haters out there (mind you, this was before the days of blogging), it goes a lil' something like this: stand-out rapper gets his 15 minutes of fame on cable television, gets a record deal, drops a lackluster album, receives a lot of criticism, attempts to roll with the punches, and subsequently falls off the face of the Earth.

Well, apparently Jin is back. Now that independent music seems to be the way to go for MCs (veterans and newcomers alike), it only makes sense. Above is his new single "Angels Freestyle" off of his upcoming mixtape Say Something. Below that is a song you probably never heard before. And yes, it DOES feature the Mr. Kanye West. I hope that gives you an indication of the promise he once offered and the accessibility of artists not too long ago. Enjoy... while it lasts.

Break-Up Anthem Gone Wrong

Back on the 23rd of May, my homegirl Artemis J posted up the music video to Chris Brown's and Tyga's "Dueces." Off their mixtape "Fan of a Fan," the song become popular across the web, instantly becoming a hit in my opinion. A month or two later, Affion Crockett has released his spin on the music video. In my honest opinion, he has been successful once again. He is back with a hilarious spoof of Chris Breezy's and Tyga's mixtape single.

You must watch the original if you hope to thoroughly enjoy the spoof.

MUSIC VIDEO: Maino-Get 'Em Tiger

So when I peeped WSHH tonight lookin' to get updated on whatever's occurred in the last day that's Hip-Hop related, I was flabbergasted (excuse the SAT word) to find a video at the top of the page entitled, "Get 'Em Tiger." I've been bumpin' Maino's Tiger Woods inspired joint for as long as it's been out there (which is dating close to half a year now) and when I discovered that the video post was indeed a video for the song, I automatically tuned in. Unfortunately, I was left displeased by the visuals. I mean, I know times are hard and your debut album didn't really push the numbers it should have but damn... a green screen effect worthy of Nick Jr. and unnecessary ass shots to describe why you are like Tiger Woods? C'mon son. Overall, this could have been TEN TIMES BETTER (at least have a story line... and no, goin' through sex addiction therapy facilitated by a sexy psychologist does not count, too typical).
