He goes by the name of Front Page and his upcoming project is apparently titled, "I Wish I Was White." Assuming that this mixtape will be satirical, I checked out his Myspace and also came across this song. Usually, ya boy Kid Black is the one givin' ya'll free shit that you probably can't get anywhere else (yeah, we exclusive like that). But I came across a special leak on Facebook and was excited to see that an MC by the name of Zeyi released a mixtape/LP. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at Hamilton College's "Rhymelab" and have anticipated some music from him since (mind you, that was like a year ago). The release is hot... with an old school flow, crisp vocals, great sound quality, and a very subtle message in his music, Zeyi doesn't fail to impress. Give it a listen (personal favorites include "Dark Brown Shades" and "Older Lady"). Enjoy.

Nicki Minaj AND Drake Reject XXL Freshmen Class Cover Offer

So, Lady Trace-Y and I had a brief discussion about who we thought belonged on XXL Magazine's Top 10 Freshmen of 2010 cover when the cover was leaked online a month back. I actually had the chance to read the article and found it quite interesting to see the artists' thoughts on their place in the industry at the moment. Among those left off the cover who we thought belonged there were MC's such as Outasight (who recently inked a deal with Warner Bros./Asylum), XV, and Nicki Minaj. However, according to Nicki Minaj, both her and Drake were offered a spot on the cover... and refused. Here's what she had to say on behalf of herself and Drizzy.
